Low-power, low-cost graphic buffer IC enabling high-resolution clear displays for portable devices

NEC Electronics has now developed a low-power, low-cost graphic buffer IC that supports full-color VGA graphics displays. Here the engineers highlight the strengths and the key episode in the development of the new product that is fabricated with NEC Electronics' unique 90-nanometer (nm) embedded DRAM technology.

Various devices connected via Ethernet, and connected via the V850 32-bit microcontrollers
NEC Electronics has brought a new product lineup to the V850 Series of 32-bit All Flash® microcontrollers, which has been adopted in various fields, including automotive, inverter appliances, and digital AV, and has secured a substantial market share: The V850ES/Jx3-E with built-in Ethernet functions.
The main target is industrial and office devices, and building and plant management systems, which are expected to incorporate Ethernet in the future.
