Road Map for Mobile Phones
The NEC Group commenced development of the W-CDMA digital base band (DBB) LSI and commercialized the 1st generation LSI in 2000. NEC continued to make refinements to meet 3GPP specifications, and hereafter, NEC Electronics will carry on development of new products in the Medity series, which integrates DBB and application processors.
As a follow-up solution, carrying on from the Medity 1 series now being introduced, NEC Electronics is planning development of Medity 2, for which a specific roadmap has already been drawn up. Medity is a integration of DBB applications centering on the progression of LSI solutions.
